Installation

Landscape Tanks Pty. Ltd. staff will be happy to discuss all aspects of installation  and design layout with customers and offer advice as appropriate.

A free no obligation on site inspection service is available.

We offer a full installation and delivery service using highly experienced staff.

Access

The equipment used to install the Landscape Tanks (Telehandler - similar to a four wheel drive forklift) require an access of 2 meters wide and 2 metres high to manoeuvre. They are able to go through carports and the like.

Crane trucks require truck access but may lift tanks over fences and garages and the like possibly from a residence or vacant block next door.

DIY applications

Customers are free to prepare their own footings or base and arrange their own installations. The new patented internal  "O" ring sealing system, which is cast into the tank wall makes plumbing tanks together a dream. Simply push a PVC pipe into the seal between tanks and for downpipe plumbing.

Landscape Tanks have a large "footprint" and as such only require minimum footings of 100mm of crushed rock on a firm base, which in many cases customers can prepare themselves saving on costs.

Comprehensive illustrated installation instructions are available at the time of purchase.

Landscape Tanks Pty. Ltd. offer a free on site inspection and design advisory service to assist. Staff can offer advice on installation and to offer suggestions on location of tanks, sharing  ideas and discuss designs to suit your property.

Transport - Delivery and installation

Landscape Tanks Pty. Ltd. have all the handling equipment necessary to offer a complete and economical installation and delivery service.

During delivery the tanks are placed onto footings and internal PVC pipes which connect the tanks together are simply pushed into position at time of delivery. Planter box tops are then placed on top, completing the installation process.

Delivery and installation is made easy with the innovative design of the Landscape Tanks and rubber seals cast into the concrete for sealing.

Site access

In most cases, our contractors can economically deliver tanks to an appropriate position using a host of different equipment, from telehandlers, four wheel drive forklifts to crawler tractors and crane trucks for the more challenging sites.

Crawler tractors and telehandlers require a minimum of 2 metres by 2 metres access to be able to access site.

Crane trucks can also be used as required and have the capacity to drop tanks over fences or carports and the like.

Sealing tanks together and external plumbing.

Landscape tanks feature a patented "O" ring seal for convenience, which is cast into the concrete for easy slip fitting of PVC pipes both internally for interconnecting the tanks together and for external downpipe pluming. This places the Landscape Tanks into a DIY catagory if required.

Footings

Because of the unique design of the Landscape Tanks they only required require modest footings of 100mm of crushed rock compacted onto a firm base. In most cases customers can do this themselves although Landscape Tanks Pty. Ltd staff will be happy to arrange this to be done.

Tank configurations

Landscape Tanks orifices are configured via a part number system to suit almost all customers requirements. Each tank configuration is determined by a part number.

Council permits

Council permits are usually not required where works are under 1m in height and water tanks specifically do not require planning or building permits.

Check your local council for details.

Retaining walls - considerations.

Landscape Tanks are ideal for use as retaining walls as they have large footprint, are very stable and will last a lifetime as well as offering all the normal features of an independent water supply, planter box and and options available for finishing the tanks.

When considering purchasing Landscape Tanks for use as a retaining wall consideration should be given to the fact that Landscape Tanks are manufactured to Australian Standard 3600 - 2001, which has an implied lifetime of over fifty years.

This means your Landscape Tanks should last a lifetime and when used as retaining walls.

This is a major cost consideration because in all liklihood timber retaining walls will need replacing numerous times in the life of a Landscape Tank at a considerable cost.

Timber retaining walls do not have the aesthetic appeal of a Landscape Tank and do not offer the water storage benefits or planter bed top options. They may also deteriorate rapidly after erection and need frequent replacing resulting in false economy.

Engineering specifications for retaining wall applications available upon request.
